BHARTI FOUNDATION WINS THE ASIAN LEADERSHIP AWARDS 2012

*The award recognises Bharti Foundation’s efforts to improve the quality
 and delivery of education in rural India*****

*New Delhi, October 16, 2012:* Bharti Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Bharti Enterprises, has won the Asian Leadership Awards 2012 in the Corporate Social Responsibility category. Bharti Foundation was chosen under the theme ‘*Support and Improvement in Quality of Education*’ for its flagship initiative - Satya Bharti School Program that provides ‘quality education’ to underprivileged and disadvantaged children in rural India, with a special focus on the girl child.

The Asian Leadership Awards is a global event organised by Fun & Joy at
 Work, an organisation headed by Dr. R. L. Bhatia. The award seeks to highlight and reward the “ability of companies to steer their businesses through turbulent times, applying the best of business modules to manage and keep their missions afloat.” The Awards are presented in various categories, including education, human resource, retail, learning and development, real estate etc.

Mr. Vijay Chadda, CEO, Bharti Foundation, said, “The award is a recognition of the efforts of the entire team to deliver quality education to children across 254 Satya Bharti Schools in rural India. The Satya Bharti School Program has moved from strength to strength with significant achievements in the enhancement of the program beyond primary level. We believe that this award will further inspire us to continue with the quality of education we deliver and will help us in our mission to transform each of our schools into centres of excellence.”
